The organisation fosters collaboration among stakeholders, offering guidance to affected individuals and promoting fair labour practices. Through its dedicated initiatives, AFRIW e.V. plays a crucial role in mitigating labour exploitation and ensuring better protection for vulnerable workers.

AFRIW e.V. has launched Project Malabar, a pioneering initiative committed to protecting the rights and welfare of Indian labourers, job seekers, and students in Germany. Built on a foundation of advocacy, empowerment, and fairness, the project serves as a lifeline for migrants facing exploitation and navigating the German labour system.

In recent developments, two cases of labour exploitation involving Indian workers have been formally reported to the Berlin Criminal Police with assistance from AFRIW, ensuring victims receive legal support. The NGO has also successfully helped Indian students secure part-time jobs with fair working conditions, reinforcing its commitment to dignity at work and transparency in employment.

In addition, AFRIW has been conducting workshops on Indian competence for various German government agencies, promoting cultural understanding, social integration, and cross-border collaboration. These workshops help institutions engage more effectively with India’s migrant communities, fostering mutual understanding.

Through Project Malabar, AFRIW e.V. is redefining migrant support – one fair opportunity at a time.

Positionspapier: Anwerbung von Fach- und Arbeitskräften (in German)

Read more about MALABAR:Download

Project Malabar: Advocating for Fair Work and Dignified Opportunities AFRIW e.V. actively supports efforts to combat labor exploitation by providing expertise, advocacy, and strategic assistance.
