We believe that lasting change starts with the people carrying it \u2014 the staff, managers, volunteers, and teams who do demanding work every day, often under pressure and with limited resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside our project work, AFRIW offers trainings and workshops for organisations, teams, and institutions who want to build concrete skills in their own context, whether that’s an NGO team, a company, a school, or a public institution. These are offered as a paid, standalone service: not tied to a specific funded project, and open to any organisation that wants to bring in outside expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We don’t offer a fixed catalogue of one-size-fits-all workshops. Instead, we work from a set of thematic scopes \u2014 areas where AFRIW and our network of trainers have deep expertise \u2014 and design each training together with the organisation or group requesting it: its length, format, language, and depth are shaped around your context, your participants, and what you actually need to walk away with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How we work:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Conversation first.<\/strong> We start with a conversation about your context, your goals, and the people who will take part.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Tailored design.<\/strong> Together we shape the format – a single workshop, a training series, a train-the-trainer programme, or ongoing accompaniment – and choose which thematic scope(s) it draws on.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Delivery.<\/strong> Sessions are participatory, practice-oriented, and adapted to the group \u2014 in person or online, in English or German (other languages on request).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Follow-up.<\/strong> We’re happy to stay in touch beyond the session itself, whether that means materials, a follow-up check-in, or connecting you to further resources.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Our trainers combine backgrounds in psychosocial support (MHPSS), gender and GBV-informed practice, intercultural facilitation, and labour rights, so that different scopes can be combined, for example, a session on migration that also integrates a trauma-aware facilitation lens, or a leadership training that includes a labour-rights foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Migration & Intercultural Competence<\/strong>
    Practical, rights-based tools for people working with migrants, refugees, and communities at risk of exploitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Trauma-Aware & Psychosocially-Informed Facilitation (MHPSS)<\/strong>
    Bringing psychosocial awareness into leadership, teamwork, and support work \u2014 without turning staff into therapists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Leadership & Organisational Development for Civil Society<\/strong>
    Strengthening the internal capacity of NGOs, grassroots groups, and community initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Labour Rights & Fair Employment<\/strong>
    Rights, standards, and practical protections in fair and ethical employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Each scope above is a starting point, not a fixed package \u2014 get in touch and we’ll shape a format around your group and your goals.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
