Promoting and defending the rights of women and girls is at the heart of AFRIW’s mission. We recognize the persistent barriers to equality and strive to address them through advocacy, education, and community-building. Our work includes campaigns for equal rights, support for survivors of discrimination or violence, and collaboration with local and international partners. We believe that when women’s rights are respected, entire societies thrive.
Sustainable peace cannot exist without the active participation of women. AFRIW works to strengthen women’s roles in peace processes, mediation, and negotiation, recognising them as key actors in preventing and resolving conflict.
We promote inclusive peacebuilding through advocacy, awareness-raising, and support for local initiatives led by women. Our goal is to move beyond viewing women as victims of conflict—to recognise them as leaders who shape just, lasting, and inclusive solutions.
