Joanna Wojtarowicz is a cultural anthropologist, political scientist, and project manager with extensive experience in human rights, humanitarian law, and intercultural integration. She has managed and contributed to numerous projects for NGOs in Germany and Poland, focusing on migration, anti-discrimination, education, and the empowerment of women, girls, and marginalised communities. Her background also includes hands-on humanitarian work supporting refugees.c
As Executive Director of AFRIW, Joanna coordinates themes such as feminist foreign policy, peace and conflict, and advocacy for social justice. She is passionate about building inclusive communities, developing educational programs, and strengthening civil society through research and practical engagement.

Saravanan Ganesan
Founder | Communication and Partnerships Lead
A seasoned International Relations professional, Saravanan Ganesan has worked with various Indian & German ministries and departments to oversee multiple projects that strengthened Indo-German ties and promoted cross-border cooperation. He has Master’s degrees in European Studies and LLM in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from Europa Universität Viadrina, Germany.
His portfolio in AFRIW encompasses migration policy, human trafficking, anti-discrimination, and gender equality.
